In 2014, looking back at 6 months of vibrant yet challenging operations, ICD has achieved certain results. Compared to the 6-month plan, business production results reached 50.96%, up 112.84% year-on-year. Specifically, logistics operations revenue reached 54.52% of plan and exceeded 136.32% year-on-year.
Regarding volume, over the first 6 months warehouse throughput reached 523,187 tons, achieving 27.77% of plan; depot yard throughput reached 16,423 tons, achieving 37.81%; road transport volume reached 12,877 TEUs, achieving 61.88%...
During the first 6 months, ICD completed construction and put into operation two new warehouses: warehouse No. 7 with 18,000m² and warehouse No. 1A—a joint venture with Sonadezi Group—with 15,300m². Currently, warehouse space is fully occupied.
In addition to warehouse and office leasing, loading/unloading, transport, and import-export customs clearance services currently provided, ICD is increasingly diversifying its services such as sorting and labeling, cargo management and dispatch by PO, end-to-end goods delivery from factory to warehouse to retail store, becoming a customs broker... Particularly, ICD leverages its large bonded yard area to provide consolidation and stuffing services for exports to Europe, the US, etc.
Currently, ICD is also continuing to construct additional warehouses to serve customers' urgent needs. Among them is Vietnam's first collateral warehouse project—aimed at providing professional and comprehensive logistics solutions, warehousing and financial services for commercial and import-export goods with an area of 31,500m²—a joint project between ICD and OCB Bank—scheduled for completion in early September 2014. And most recently in early August 2014, ICD will inaugurate and put into operation warehouse No. 11, with 15,300m². Along with that, the plan to build 3 more new warehouses (Nos. 12, 13, 14) will also be completed in 2014, of which warehouse 14 will be financed by customer capital.
Alongside these advantages, ICD also faces many difficulties and challenges. This requires ICD to continually improve and enhance its capacity and service quality to better meet customers' ever-increasing demands, so that in the near future ICD Tân Cảng Long Bình will become the largest ICD in Southeast Asia as targeted.
