On March 10, 2010, the Centralized Inspection Point at ICD Tan Cang - Long Binh was inaugurated and officially commenced operations under Decision 206/QD - TCHQ of the General Department of Customs, Ministry of Finance. This event marked an increase in high-quality services provided to customers, facilitating customs clearance for import-export goods as well as creating a seamless connection within the port and ICD system of Saigon Newport Corporation.
With a highly advantageous geographical location combined with superior infrastructure and equipment for transporting goods and containers by both waterway and road transport in the key economic region of Southern Vietnam in general and Đồng Nai province in particular, coupled with smooth coordination with Long Binh Tan Customs Branch and Đồng Nai Customs Department, the Centralized Inspection Point located right within ICD Tan Cang - Long Binh will form an import-export customs clearance area with value-added services on a scale that is the most modern and efficient in Vietnam today.
The Centralized Inspection Point has a total area of nearly 30,000 m2, including an inspection facility with an elevated floor system and good ventilation to facilitate customs clearance for container trucks, allowing over 100 containers to be inspected simultaneously. Moreover, together with a professional workforce with high discipline combined with full and modern handling equipment and tools, along with the cargo scanning system of Đồng Nai Customs Department, it will satisfy all enterprises in shortening customs clearance time, reducing costs, and improving production and business efficiency. The Centralized Inspection Point combined with the empty depot right within ICD Tan Cang - Long Binh will create an ideal location to enhance the productivity of stuffing or unstuffing cargo between containers and trucks. The state-of-the-art IT infrastructure system, IP technology CCTV cameras, and broadband fiber optic connections integrated with the modern monitoring and communication system of Đồng Nai Customs Department will make cargo flow faster and even more convenient.
Besides the first scanner at Hai Phong port for the Northern region and the second scanner at Cát Lái port for the Southern region, the General Department of Customs has invested in a third scanner at ICD Tan Cang - Long Binh, located adjacent to the Centralized Inspection Point, which officially became operational in early October 2013. In addition to supporting customs clearance operations, this scanner also serves customers with exports to the United States, the only country in the world that requires imported goods to pass through a scanner.
In the coming time, with the growing demand for import-export of goods and expansion of trade markets by enterprises, the Centralized Inspection Point of ICD Tan Cang - Long Binh together with the warehouse and yard system in the port and ICD network of Saigon Newport Corporation will certainly create favorable conditions to promote cooperation and investment expansion of enterprises not only in Đồng Nai province but also in neighboring areas in the key economic region of Southern Vietnam.
